I can scrap with pink

So I promised a layout and here it is.

I used mostly Prima products on this. I think the only things that aren't from Prima are the pink and brown cardstocks.   Loads of flowers.  And I changed the photo to sepia (see it in color on an earlier post).  I just love the softness that printing in sepia gives photos, especially close-ups.   The other thing I did was to change one of the prima flowers.  While I loved the large pink flower with tulle, it had several pearls and a large bling gem that was a hot pink.  The hot pink so didn't go with this layout. So I kind of pulled the gems off and replaced them with a smaller paper flower.  I even used part of the packaging from one of the packs of flowers for the journaling.

Wow, I guess I can scrap with pink!

More Baby Goodness

Ok, just humor me.  What do you expect from a new grandma, huh?

I am moving pictures to disk and have to post this one.  Next time will be a layout, promise.

Now, if that just isn't all that is good, what is?

And see, big brother has come around after all.

Although I do notice that his cell phone is not conveniently located...

Flowery Goodness

I've been off track here for a few days; deadlines, projects, huge rummage sale at the store, and new grandbaby are my excuses. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.  tee-heee  Now I still have deadlines and projects to complete, but I am coming back down to earth after the arrival of Isabella.  And I did get rid of a bunch of stuff at the rummage sale, but I've found sooo much more that I can clear out.  Ah well, there will be another rummage sale this next September and this time I will be better prepared!

On to other goodies.  We have received our Prima order at the store.  Now there are some goodies.  I don't care what your taste is, Prima has a flower collection that will blow you away.  So many pretty things.  For myself I picked out some pretty pastel and pink blooms (can you guess where this is heading?!).  I have to get some photos printed and put together some baby layouts.  But in the meantime I pulled this card off the Prima site and am posting it here, just to make you drool.

This is NOT MY CARD.  The artist is Sharon Laakkonen and she does some awesome things with Prima products.  Please take moment or two and check out the Prima blog for Sharon's work as well as as all kinds of inspiration.  You can get to it through my blog at the right under Places to Visit.  Loads of flowery goodness to see there.

More Isabella

Isabella's unce Matthew and I went down to the hospital last night to visit.  The report from mommy was that she had been a bit on the active side (ummmm crying big time) the night before.  Daddy Nick had spent the night at the hospital so they could keep her in the room with them.  She finally settled in to sleep at about 2 a.m.  Welcome to parenthood!

She was not too happy when her uncle and I got there either.  But Uncle Matthew is not one to give up on a crying baby.

She did qiuet down nicely and allowed mommy to eat her dinner.  SThen Isabella ate, Unlce Matthew did the burbing honors and she nodded right off to sleep before we left at 9.

Sorry no baby face in this shot, I wanted to get that little round head of hair in the picture!

Isabella is here...

Today was baby day.  Kim was to report at the hospital at 6 a.m. for her C-section today.

Big brother Jacob (who is still less than thrilled with the whole baby bit) spent the night at my house. Now that he is older, I get less and less time with him like this, so it was nice to have him for the evening.

I figured by the time she was checked in, got changed, got all the monitors on and her spinal that delivery would be about 9 or so.  And right on schedule at 9:15 this morning I got the phone call telling us that she had arrived safely and that both she and her mommy were doing just fine.

So Jacob and I did our errands this morning, he picked out a gift for his mom and a little something for baby and then we went out to lunch and on to the hospital.

And here she is...

She is a little peanut, weighing in at 7 pounds, 1 ounce and 18 3/4 inches long.  She has tiny little facial features and spent most of her first day on this earth sleeping.   Her name is Isabella Nicole.

Well she spent a little time on some other activities...

Never did get over coloring....

Argh.  It's a stormy Tuesday morning.  Thunder rumbling and a downpour expected.  Now I like a good thunderstorm... at night when I have nowhere to go and get drenched.  But it is a work day, so drenched I will more than likely be!

Just wanted to post a quick pic of the Copics.  They look so pretty all lined up.  I think I may have to shop today and hopefully can spend some time tonight coloring.  I never did get over the coloring thing as a kid!  I've spent a lot of time making cards from scraps... but I may now get back to stamping and coloring a bit.

Am still using up those scraps though.  Spent a couple of hours at my friend Sandy's yesterday and as soon as I take the photos, I'll post the results of yesterday's cards from scraps venture.

More minis

Happy April!  It's April 1st!  That means 13 more days till I am Nana to a baby girl, 10 more days till Mini Book Madness, and just 45 days till Scrapathon!  And in between I truly need to continue the purge in my scraproom, label and price things for the scrapper's rummage sale.

But I digress!  It's April!  It's going to be a lovely sunny day today. We expect 70's today!  I have thrown open the windows to let in the fresh air, Gypsy kitty is loving the bird action in the tree outside the dining room! And it's 10 days till Mini Book Madness.  I have a second set of mini books in the works as alternative samples.  But here are a few more pics of what is complete.

We have the Jazmyne mini book kits coming in (probably arriving today), but I put together this book sans kit, just pulled three sheets of the pretty sparkly paper and 2 sheets of coordinating dotted cardstock, plus the coordinating chipboard Icandy.  It went together 1-2-3 especially with the use of... wait for it...
yes, a couple of the EK border punches.  Told you I'd be adding those beautys wherever I could!!!   I'll post more pics of the inside of the books after the class.

But in the meanwhile, here is the mini Maya Road book...

This one barely takes any paper at all.  It's so teeny and cute.  I think you can do the whole book with one maybe one and one-half sheets of paper.  Of course I didn't want to use the same paper throughout, so used several sheets... but the point is you don't need the ENTIRE sheet, just a little bit of each.  Great for scrap usage.

So there you have it, a couple more teasers as to the fun we will be creating in Mini Book Madness.
