Just watched the royal wedding...  have to admit it I have been enamored with the royal thing ever since I saw Ann of the Thousand Days w-a-y back in 1971 or 72 (see, I am too old to remember).

Friday Favorites:

*  the Royal Wedding (yeah I got up way early to watch Princess Diana's funeral back when)
*  colors of pale robin egg blue and rich chocolate brown
*  Glubers and Gluber flowers!
*  sunshine (finally)
*  polka dots (love me some polka dots!)
*  my faithful Mimi totes

I have been thoroughly enjoying simple heat embossed cards again.  Something about that powder turning all molten and shiny with the application of heat.   A few pearls, a tiny bit of Smooch and done!  Loving how quickly it all goes together too!

Happy Friday!

Creation devastation...

Check this mess out!  (I give up.  I cannot seem to make anything without creating a mess.  It's just they way it is.)  But!  In the middle of the heaps of scrappy goodies, see those pinch pleated weird little circles?  Looks kind of like cupcake thingys?  They were pleated flowers; last night.

Those cute little pleated flowers, y-e-a-h.   They are sitting there laughing at me right now.  I thought I could just use regular Zots doubled up to hold them together.... looked good last night.  And this morning?  Those little suckers are all popped right off the page and undone.  Just sitting there... mocking me.  Hate that.  OK, you little buggers asked for it, I'm gettin' the glue gun out.

Made myself a decorated composition notebook.  I thoroughly trashed my older one, carting it to and from, tossing it in the backseat of the car.  I'm sure this one will get man-handled too.  But right now it's all pretty and fresh and ready for notes on new class ideas, sb page ideas, and quotes and quips that I want to remember.

Used a couple of sheets of an older Prima paper (Rue 88), some coordinating Prima Essentials flowers plus a few from an E-line package, few tiny Prima rosebuds and I even cut a few flowers out of the lace and tucked them in.   The label at the top of the notebook is actually part of the backing of a Prima flowers package.

Today  I will be off to help my friend Sandy with her grandson's first grade class making Mother's Day cards.  This should be fun!  Gotta love the energy and enthusiasm of 6 and 7 year olds.  I only hope I am up to it.  Then tonight I am teaching Hot Flashes!, a class for everyone who has forgotten about their heat gun and those who are new to stamping and heat embossing.

White on white on white.

I wanted to make a card that did not use any pattern paper AND that did not require stamping.  White on white texture is what popped into my head.  Embossed a layer of white cardstock with a dotted embossing folder(Cuttlebug), embossed the edges of that with an iridescent sparkling powder (Judinkins) and used pop dots to secure it to a folded white card.   Then it was time to layer on two pieces of lace (Prima), the small pearl flourish (Prima), the white sparkly flower (Prima)  and a pretty sparkly dangly thing (Prima Vintage Trinkets).

I think I may make a white on white sb page...  wonder what kind of pictures I could use on that... wedding comes to mind, but that would be far too expected!?!  But maybe baptism photos or new baby photos.

Friday Favorites...

* Confession; I really like McDonalds' Caramel Latte Coffee.
* Am loving driving my new, used car.
* Cushy new pair of Mootsie Tootsies making my feet so very happy
* Red Velvet Cookies (they are evil, evil, evil---but so darn good)
* Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Cider.
* White. White pens, white embossing powders, white cardstocks. Don't know why.  Just going with it.

From my desk:

Found just the right papers for my pictures of Jacob and his brand new sister.  (Well, she's not brand new anymore...)  I just never found the right papers for these photos before this.  Everything was too baby, to sweet.  And I wanted these pages to be about Jacob.  So when I was cruising Two Peas and saw this line from Prima (called Reflections), I just knew it would be perfect .  So rich.  yum, yum yummy yum.

Still have to add the journaling.  I think I will type it out in one sentence lines, cut them into strips and put them on the page in a row.  hmmm maybe.  we'll see.  (I am sooo decisive. yeah. not.)

Just a closer look at the flowers! I had such fun putting this together.  Who says you can't put flowers on a boy's page???  Now on to the secondary page. Still have to have a coordinating second page.  Maybe one day I will get over this and do single pages and not worry about making matched or coordinating two page layouts.  But, not today.  Not there, yet.

Happy Friday everyone.  Happy Easter!

                                                                 The story of cake.

                                                        hmmm.  sticky.  that's new.

everything gets a taste test, such as fingers, other peoples noses, dogs, the cat is as yet too fast.  note to self increase speed to catch cat.

                                                             oooooooh.  not green beans.

                                                                s-u-g-a-r.   g-o-o-d.

                                                                     forget the cat.

                                                       Happy 1st birthday pretty girl!

Tomorrow is Miss Izzie's first birthday.  One year ago, we were waiting and anticipating her arrival.  Couldn't wait to see her.    And now I can't believe how fast the past months have gone by.

What a difference a year makes.

I wish her great grandma could have met her.  I am trying to envision my mother as Izzie's great grandma angel, offering her love, support and guidance always.

My little grandbaby girl -- as much as her mommy wants her called Bella, I am afraid this face tells the story.  She is so an Izzie!  She is a character, this one!

Used a boatload of Crate papers, stickers (yeah, me and stickers, go figure) and a handmade flower from a scallop circle punch.

To make the flower, you pile up six scallop circle punches, staple the pile in the middle.  I used Tim's Tiny Attacher because the staples are so tiny and very sturdy.  Then you crunch the circle up one by one.

It is a rather bulky flower, so I don't know that I would use this a lot.  But if there is one or two pages in an album that are bulky, well, so what?  As long as the album is stored vertically, it should not bend or damage the other pages before or after it.

So here is how the page turned out from that little photo of my little Petunia Bud!  (Now if I could just learn how to photograph the page so it is straight...)  The papers are from Echo Park and Crate Paper,  some of my favorites from the new lines coming in.  ummm one of several favorites....

I am not usually much of a sticker person, but I absolutley loved piling up the stickers for the title and using the little date, year and note tags to document those facts around the flower.  And the flowers from Petaloo!...  Loved those too! Can't wait to see what is coming in next from them.  Stay tuned!

While I was at Kim's watching little miss, so Mommy could prep for her Baptism day festivities, I downloaded a bunch of photos (during naptime as little miss keeps you hopping when she is awake!)
Anyway now I have a couple more photos so I can do a second coordinating page.  And I got to snap some more photos of my own!  A good day!

So here it is the end of the month and it's been two weeks since I posted anything.  It's been a super busy two weeks though.

Scrapathon pages, check.

Make & Take cards for Expo, check.

Formula page sample, check.

Seasonal page sample, check.

New product samples, check.

Card class samples, check.

After tonight, I can post some photos of the above (well except for the Scrapathon pages!).

But I can post a pic of the little Petunia Bud!

She went to California to visit her great grampa.  I think Sea World and the San Diego Zoo might have been lost on her.

But pounding on the piano with my niece, that she enjoyed thoroughly by the looks of it!

Next on my list of scrapping, stamping to-dos:  I have to get thank you's done and out, then will be much cutting and checking for Scrapathon page kits, and putting together the page planners that (hopefully) I will be working on at the A-Thon.  Oh and yeah, lots more checking in of new product at the store!
